Guides

The parts of a purchasing decision where money actually gets lost — how to fix a parameter, how to choose a standard, how documents and container loading fit together. Written for buyers who are choosing a supplier right now, not for a company brochure.

Each one answers a decision you have to make this week.

Tearing down a crystal chandelier: 12 BOM items and their cost share

One three-colour-temperature chandelier reduced to its smallest purchasing units: canopy, gripper, steel cable, die-cast arms, holders, driver, crystal drops, wiring, terminals, screw pack, insert, carton. With a cost range for each and the three items most likely to overrun.

Lamp holder selection: ceramic, bakelite or flame-retardant PC

Heat rating, insulation, cost and applicable wattage for the three base materials. When bakelite carbonises, when ceramic is over-specified, and where the crossover sits.

LED driver matching: most flicker and lumen decay starts at the constant-current value

Working back from the LED string configuration to the driver output, covering current tolerance, headroom design, power factor and dimming protocol compatibility. Includes a matching table for common wattages.

Sourcing in Guzhen: three days, one supply chain

Two routes — during the lighting fair and on a normal week. What to look at, what to ask, how to compare three suppliers' real capacity in a single day, and which facts only become clear on site.

Content Matrix

One piece of work, cut four ways

Not a long article chopped into clips, but the same subject reorganised for the stage of decision the buyer is at. Guides go to search, shop-floor footage goes to feeds, cases go to private channels.

We are in Guzhen during the lighting fair

The Guzhen International Lighting Fair has run for 34 editions and draws more than 200,000 buyers each year. Fair week is the most efficient window for seeing samples, comparing prices and locking a design. Send the BOM in advance and the samples and quotation will be ready when you arrive.
